First Batch of Ural-Built Lastochka High-Speed EMU Trains Delivered to Russian Railways
Ural Locomotives (based in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia) have started shipping the first batch of Class ES2G Lastochka electric multiple unit trains to Russian Railways.
The existing contract provides for the supply of 23 five-car trains to Russian Railways in 2015. The first batch of 8 trains was delivered to the customer in late June.
June 29, 2015 saw the inauguration of Ural Locomotives’ Regional Center 10 at Moscow’s Podmoskovnaya Station depot, where the Class ES2G Lastochka trains warranty maintenance will be carried out. The Regional Center’s maintenance & service team includes design engineers, process engineers and electrical technicians. All employees of the Regional Center underwent training at Ural Locomotives’ Trains Production.
Ural Locomotives Director General Mr. Alexander Salataev made the following comment on this historical landmark event: “Today is not only about the first shipment of Lastochka trains to Russian Railways but it also marks a new chapter in Ural Locomotives customer collaboration. We deliver a quality product that conforms to all the specifications and we also offer the rolling stock maintenance services.”
