April 16, 2004 Ural Rolling Stock Manufacturing Plant OJSC established. Production shop renovation begins.

2004  Development of new-generation DC mainline freight electric locomotive launched.

2005 Class VL11 freight locomotive life-extension refurbishment starts. A total of 34 Class VL11 locomotives retrofitted between 2005 and 2009.

December 1, 2006 The first prototype Class 2ES6 DC Mainline Freight Electric Locomotive with commutator traction motor officially unveiled.

2007 Class 2ES6 locomotive Manufacture and Supply Agreement signed with JSC Russian Railways. Quality Management System certified against the internationally recognised ISO 9001.

2008 The Russian certification authority, the «Register of Certification on the Federal Railway Transport» (RS FzhT), issued its approval for Class 2ES6 electric locomotive.

2009 Manufacturing facility opened with annual capacity of 60 twin-section locomotives.

JSC Russian Railways, Sinara Group and Siemens AG sign a tripartite agreement on volume production of electric locomotives with asynchronous traction motors and components for them.

 

July 1, 2010 Ural Locomotives LLC established

November 18, 2010 Class 2ES10 GRANITE DC Mainline electric freight locomotive with asynchronous traction drive presented to Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin

August 4, 2011 Record-breaking trip of a GRANITE locomotive with asynchronous traction drive pulling a net tonnage of 9,000 tons over the Ural Mountains.

September 7, 2011 JSC Russian Railways and Ural Locomotives signed a contract for the supply of 1,200 cars of Lastochka electric multiple unit during the period from 2015 to 2020

May 17, 2012 The first pile driven for the construction of EMU production facility.

May 25, 2012 Foundation laid for DESIRO RUS EMU Train Manufacturing Facility. Construction begins.

March 2013 The first unit of all-new Class 2ES7 AC Mainline electric freight locomotive leaves factory. Testing begins.

May 25, 2013 Extruded aluminum car body – first ever for Russia’s rolling-stock manufacturing – welded at LASTOCHKA EMU Train Manufacturing Facility.

September 2013 Ural Locomotives LLC achieves certification against IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard)

November 11, 2013 Russian President Mr. Putin attends the launch of LASTOCHKA EMU Train Manufacturing Facility.

May 6, 2014 Booster section for Class 2ES10 GRANITE DC Mainline electric freight locomotive with asynchronous traction drive completed.

May 30, 2014 The first Russian-built LASTOCHKA high-speed electric multiple-unit train  finished.
