Russian regions operate the passenger higher-speed electric trains
"Ural Locomotives" is a modern high–tech enterprise for production of railway rolling stock. It was founded on July 1, 2010. It is part of the Sinara – Transport Machines Holding.
The main business of the plant are the design, production, sale and maintenance of traction and EMU rolling stock of a new generation featuring increased efficiency, high consumer, operational and environmental properties.
Currently, the company produces Sinara (2ES6 and 3ES6 series) electric freight locomotives fitted with a commutator traction motors, Orletz (2ES11) and Malachite (2ES8 and 3ES8 series) fitted with Russian-made asynchronous traction drive, as well as Finist (ES104 and ES105 series) Russian higher-speed passenger electric trains.
The Granite (2ES10 and 3ES10 series) freight electric locomotives and 2ES7 previously produced by the company, as well as Lastochka (ES2G, ES2GP and ES1P series) passenger electric trains are currently being operated on the transportation network and regularly undergo maintenance.
The company has established and effectively operates its own design school, where advanced ideas in the field of innovative railway technology are generated in close cooperation with industry science. When developing new and modifying the existing products, the company uses an automated design and engineering data management system.
The plant's own technical solutions are being successfully implemented in the design of trains and locomotives of the new series. In the course of its business "Ural Locomotives" has received over 150 patents for utility models and unique inventions. The scientific approach and well-coordinated work of the professional team allow the company to hold a leading position in Russia in the development of new-generation railway rolling stock for the 1520 mm gauge.

High-Speed Electric Train Project
"Ural Locomotives" plant is one of the key participants in the project to create Russian-made high-speed electric train. For achieving this goal, a significant increase in production facilities is planned on the territory of the enterprise, and five new facilities will be built by the end of the year 2026. A large-scale program of technological renewal and equipment upgrade in existing divisions, reconstruction of utility and transport infrastructure facilities is also being implemented.
With regard to the creation of the first Russian high-speed electric train, the process of developing and gradually transferring design documentation is underway (the development of the high-speed electric train is being conducted by the Engineering Center of Railway Transport (JSC "EC RT") established by JSC "RZD" and the Sinara Group in the year 2019).
The first two new generation trains will be handed over for testing and certification in the year 2027.
