Locomotives Production

The company has extensive experience and expertise in the production of mainline freight locomotives
“Ural Locomotives” plant has over 15 years of experience in the production of electric locomotives. The plant's capacity enables the production of up to 360 sections of freight locomotives per year.

The production process begins with the preparation of parts from sheet and shaped rolled metal, which are cut out on specialized units with subsequent machining. The finished sets of parts are transferred for welding.

The roofs of electric locomotives are assembled and welded at specialized stands. Then the walls are covered with steel sheets. The frame and walls of the body are positioned using precise measuring instruments, after which the roof, the cabin of the electric locomotive and the inner part of the body frame are mounted. The use of welding stands improves the quality and speed of work. After welding is completed, the body and individual components of the future electric locomotive are transferred for painting.
The painting production of locomotives is a complex of paint and drying chambers in which the parts of an electric locomotive undergo pre-treatment, painting and drying. Surface preparation, priming and applying layers of enamel with paint sprayers are carried out under controlled temperature and humidity conditions.

In order to ensure uninterrupted serial production of electric locomotives, two production lines were set up at the plant, where one section of the locomotive is assembled daily. Here, equipment is installed in stages under the body, in the body and on the roof, as well as bogies are rolled under the locomotive section. Work at different sites is carried out in parallel, and the plant uses a modular approach. Due to the interchangeability of the modules, the time for both assembly of an electric locomotive and its future repair is reduced.

The inspection of body tightness, operability of all systems of the electric locomotive and its preparation for transfer to the customer is carried out at the test station. In-plant tests of locomotives are carried out on the company's own electrified track.
