Bogies Production

The plant organized its own production of bogies for various types of rolling stock of the 1520 gauge
"Ural Locomotives" mastered the full cycle of manufacturing bogies for various types of rolling stock: mainline freight electric locomotives, higher-speed electric trains and freight locomotives.

A complex of state-of-the-art equipment and advanced technologies are used to achieve high quality and safety of the locomotive and train undercarriage. The bogies manufacturing process includes several stages: production preparation, machining, welding, quality control, wheelsets production, painting, assembly and testing.
The components of bogie frame are made by laser cutting and connected by robotic welding.

At the site of the manufacture of wheelset the components, axles, wheel centers, tyres, large gears, and bearing housings are processed. The final assembly process includes the installation of components, connection to the wheelsets, and testing on a load stand. Traction motors, after electrical tests, are mounted in the wheel-motor unit.

The final stage is the testing of the wheel-motor unit on a special stand.
