Orletz (2ES11)
The 2ES11 Orletz Mainline Freight Electric Locomotive with Russian-made asynchronous traction drive is designed to haul freight trains on 1,520 mm gauge railways electrified with alternating current.
The 2ES11 electric locomotive was developed and manufactured by the “Ural Locomotives” plant on the base platform of 3ES8 Malachite DC Freight Electric Locomotive.
The electric locomotive is capable of hauling a train weighing up to 7,100 tons in a two-section configuration and up to 9,000 tons in a three-section configuration - with a booster section.
